Non-Insured Health Benefits

NIHB at Capilano Mall Dental

A welcoming dental home for First Nations and Inuit clients in Edmonton. We're a registered NIHB provider — bill directly, no out-of-pocket costs for covered services.

What is the NIHB Program?

The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program is a national program administered by Indigenous Services Canada that provides eligible First Nations and Inuit clients with coverage for a range of medically necessary health benefits — including comprehensive dental care.

As a registered NIHB provider, Capilano Mall Dental bills the program directly. For most eligible services, you simply bring your status card or NIHB client number — there's nothing to pay at checkout for covered procedures.

Who is eligible?

NIHB eligibility includes:

  • Registered First Nations under the Indian Act
  • Inuit recognized by an Inuit land claim organization
  • Children up to one year of age whose parent is eligible under the program
