Children's Dentistry

Gentle, patient care for kids of every age. We turn dental visits into something they actually look forward to — and build a lifetime of healthy habits along the way.

Children's Dentistry

A first dental visit is a big deal — let's make it a great one

We recommend a child's first dental visit by their first birthday — or whenever the first tooth appears. It's mostly a meet-and-greet: a tour, a quick peek inside, lots of high-fives, and a small toothbrush as a parting gift.

From there, we grow with your child. Cleanings start short and easy. As they get older, we layer in fluoride treatments, sealants, and orthodontic monitoring. Every step is paced to your child — never rushed.

Why patients choose this treatment

The benefits, plainly explained

01

Patient with kids of every age

From toddlers who'd rather hide under the chair to teens with strong opinions, our team has seen it all and knows how to make every age feel safe.

02

Bright, friendly environment

We've designed our space to feel welcoming — not clinical. Kids see the chair, not a scary machine.

03

Sealants & fluoride

Tiny preventive treatments that dramatically reduce cavity risk on still-developing teeth. Quick, painless and proven.

04

Orthodontic monitoring

We track jaw development from age 7 onwards and recommend orthodontics only when timing is right — not before.

05

Family appointments

Schedule the whole family back-to-back. Saves you trips and gives kids the security of seeing their parent in the chair too.

06

Habit coaching

Practical, judgment-free advice on brushing, flossing, snacking and screen-time-based teeth grinding. Real-life parenting, not a textbook.

What to expect

Your treatment, step by step

1

Tell-show-do

Before anything happens, we explain it in kid-language and let them touch the tools. No surprises, no fear.

2

Knee-to-knee exam (toddlers)

For our youngest patients, parent and dentist sit knee-to-knee with the child laying back in both laps. Quick, comfortable, no chair required.

3

Cleaning & polish

Soft brushes, gentle suction (we call it 'Mr. Thirsty'), and bubblegum-flavoured toothpaste. Most cleanings take less than 10 minutes.

4

Take-home treasure

Stickers, a new toothbrush, and bragging rights. We end every kids' visit on a high note.

Common questions

When should my child's first dental visit happen?+

By age 1 or within 6 months of the first tooth appearing — whichever comes first. Early visits are quick, easy, and set the tone for a lifetime of comfortable dental care.

Are baby teeth important to fix?+

Yes. Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth, help with speech and chewing, and can cause real pain if cavities are left to grow. Treating them early is often a quick fix vs. a much bigger problem later.

Do you accept the Alberta Dental Services for Seniors / Child Health Benefit?+

Yes — we accept Alberta Child Health Benefit and the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP). We bill these directly so families don't pay anything out of pocket where coverage applies.
