Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

If the thought of the dentist makes your stomach turn, you're not alone — and you have options. Choose the level of sedation that's right for you and let us handle the rest.

Sedation Dentistry

You don't have to white-knuckle it through the dentist

Dental anxiety is real, common, and absolutely no reason to put off care. We offer multiple levels of sedation — from a light laughing-gas relaxation to deeper IV sedation — so you can pick the one that fits your appointment and comfort level.

Many of our most-anxious patients report feeling like they 'just took a nap' during a procedure they had been dreading for years. We'd love to help you cross dental visits off the worry list for good.

Why patients choose this treatment

The benefits, plainly explained

01

Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)

Inhaled through a small nose mask. Fast on, fast off — you can drive yourself home and return to work the same day.

02

Oral conscious sedation

A small pill taken before your appointment. You'll feel deeply relaxed and may not remember much of the visit afterwards.

03

IV sedation

For longer or more complex procedures. You're awake but in a deep state of relaxation, with vitals continuously monitored.

04

Combine multiple treatments

Sedation makes it practical to do several procedures in one visit — saving you appointments, time and repeat anxiety.

05

Safe & monitored

Our team is trained and certified in sedation protocols. Your blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen are watched the entire time.

06

Wake up done

Many patients are surprised the procedure is over. The lasting impression isn't fear — it's relief and a finished smile.

What to expect

Your treatment, step by step

1

Sedation consult

We review your medical history, current medications, and discuss which option (or combination) is the best fit for your treatment and comfort level.

2

Pre-appointment instructions

Depending on the sedation, you may need to fast or arrange a ride home. We'll send a clear written checklist a few days before your visit.

3

The visit

We administer the sedation, then complete the dental work while you stay relaxed and comfortable. Time seems to go by quickly.

4

Recovery & aftercare

We monitor you until you're fully alert (or hand you off to your driver, depending on the type used) and send you home with detailed aftercare and follow-up.

Common questions

Will I be unconscious?+

Not with the most common options. Nitrous and oral sedation keep you awake and able to respond — just deeply relaxed. IV sedation is deeper but still 'awake' in a clinical sense, just very few patients remember it afterwards.

Is sedation covered by insurance?+

Coverage varies. Nitrous is often covered as part of a procedure, while oral and IV sedation are sometimes additional. We'll quote you in advance and bill insurance directly to maximize coverage.

Is sedation safe?+

Yes — all options used in our office have decades of safety data behind them. We screen carefully, monitor continuously, and only use sedation where we're confident it's safe for you.
